From the moment you first make contact you must position yourself to be, and stay, in control of the relationship (or sales process). The secret to effective marketing is repeating your message to your target audience over and over again in new and creative ways. Yes, this is direct mail. Direct mail works and mine works better than most. I use direct mail because it's effects are measurable. You can predict with a great deal of certainty how many loans you will get from any given number of letters you mail. How do I know? Because I test them. I have it down to a science. Many mail houses are happy to advertise a .04% response rate. I'm not knocking them. That's a decent response, but that's why they have minimum orders in the thousands. Otherwise, your phone wouldn't ring. My letters consistently get a 1-2% response from the first mailing...and they're fresh...brand spanking new...different than anyone has ever seen before...the complete opposite of your competition! Even if you only mailed 200 letters every 2 weeks, you'd still make money! But the real VALUE is in the quality of borrower.
